Luvox Tablet is used to treat social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. They are characterized by persistent, intrusive thoughts, and desire to repeatedly carry out particular behaviors. The extreme fear of interacting with others or performing in front of others that interferes with ordinary life is handled.

WAY OF ADMINISTRATION:

Administer Luvox Tablet by mouth once or twice daily. This medicine is taken at the same time to avoid missing any dose. It can be taken with a meal or without a meal.

DOSAGE OF LUVOX:

Children—The doctor decides the use and dosage.

Adults—At the start, use 50 mg of the oral dosage form (tablets) once daily at bedtime. The doctor might change the dose. The dosage is typically no greater than 300 mg daily.  If your daily dose exceeds 100 mg, your doctor might advise taking it in two evenly-spaced doses.

Children aged 8 to 17: Start with 25 mg once daily at bedtime. If necessary, your doctor might change your dose. Depending on age, the dosage is typically no higher than 200 mg or 300 mg daily. The doctor might advise you to take it in two doses if your daily intake exceeds 50 mg.

Children under 8 — Your doctor must determine the use and dosage.

WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS:

  1. The doctor is aware of all the patients medical problems like kidney and liver problems.
  2. Adverse side effects of combining Fluvoxamine Tablet with other medicines exist. Book an appointment with the doctor if these side effects occur.
  3. Serotonin syndrome is a potentially fatal disease, and is brought on by this medication. This occurs when your body produces an excessive amount of serotonin due to medicine. Call the doctor immediately if you have any signs of this illness, such as agitation, hallucinations, issues with coordination, or stiffness in your muscles.
  4. This medication may make you more likely to bleed or bruise. If you also take aspirin, the blood thinner warfarin, or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine, your risk may increase (such as ibuprofen or naproxen).
  5. Avoid the intake of alcohol when on this drug. The doctor does not recommend this.
