Mestinon tablet is a prescription drug recommended to treat myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis is a skeletal muscle disease where skeletal muscle gets weaker and worsens as time passes. Pyridostigmine is an active ingredient that improves muscle strength by preventing the breakdown of a natural body substance which is Acetylcholine. Acetylcholine maintains muscle function.
WAY OF ADMINISTRATION:
Mestinon tablet by mouth with or without food, but it’s better to take it with food. Take a full glass of water with each dose of the medicine to avoid stomach irritation. Do not cut, bite or triturate the tablet and swallow it thoroughly. Read the information mentioned; on the user leaflet and follow the doctor’s instructions.
SIDE EFFECTS OF MESTINON:

DOSAGE OF MESTINON:

Otherwise, it may give severe side effects.

WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS:
Avoid Mestinon (pyridostigmine) tablets if you are taking any blood disorder treatment.
Patients with kidney/liver/lung disease or mental disorders like depression and rapid mood swings should tell their doctor about it as more doses of this medicine may cause kidney failure or worsen.
Someone with blood pressure problems or breathing issues should take the doctor’s advice for this medication as it causes an increase in blood pressure which gives undesirable side effects.
Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should avoid this medicine because it passes through breast milk and affects the baby’s growth.
